I have worked with Ralph Fiennes over the past 10 years as his Physicality & Expression Coach. 

 

What does a Physicality & Expression coach do? In the context of the ‘Four Quartets’ I worked with Ralph to support him totally inhabiting his physical body so he could be spontaneous with the rhythm, timing, intonation and phrasing of the words in the moment. Collaborating with Ralph in this way enabled him to improvise with a set text. His expression of that text therefore ebbed and flowed differently with each performance. Ralph is truly a master on his art and his openness and readiness to embrace all that he doesn’t yet know enables him to keep evolving as an actor and person.
